More and more people work from home now than they did in the past. Some are employed and work from home for part of the week, while others are self employed and enjoy every day at home working on their own.
But regardless of which group you happen to fall into, there is always a need for one thing – exercise. If you spend most of your working life working from home, it is important to ensure you get regular exercise and fresh air. The latter one is easy enough to get because you can always step outside every half an hour or so. Exercise can be harder to get though, particularly if the weather isn’t so good.
This is where the humble exercise bike fits in. You can set an alarm to remind you to go and have a brief pedal on your bike if you wish. Since you work from home you should be able to set a time that suits you, so you can enjoy the experience and not feel as if it is interrupting your day.
When you first start building some exercise biking into your day, try doing it at various different times. You may find you like getting up and doing it first thing, so you can wake yourself up and be ready for work nice and early. Alternatively you may prefer to get up and get some work done first thing, before launching into some exercise later on.
The point is that an exercise bike is one of the easiest ways to build some needed exercise into your day when you work from home. You don’t need to worry if the weather is bad; you don’t have to worry what you look like, and it doesn’t take you ages travelling to and from the gym or the swimming pool. In fact it could take just a few seconds to move from one room to the next to get pedalling!
If you have an iPhone or another device you can check your emails on, you can even do that while you are pedalling if you wish. This means you can get a couple of jobs done at the same time, so you won’t feel as if you are dragging yourself away from your work.
Although having said that, it is always good to make time for some exercise in your daily life.
