It is fast approaching that time of year when we all eat far too much and then regret it afterwards. It’s Christmas of course, swiftly followed by the New Year, which comes with far too much alcohol and celebrating for a lot of people to handle.
It’s no wonder then that by January we are all setting New Year’s Resolutions to lose weight and get some much needed exercise. But if you haven’t already got an exercise bike or some other piece of exercise equipment, now is the best time to invest in one.
The New Year brings with it plenty of sales, and that means the opportunity to perhaps pick up a bargain that will help you lose those extra few pounds you put on over Christmas. Even if you don’t find something suitable on sale, you will soon see that the shops are eager to cash in on this New Year frenzy to start off with some exercise.
Most big stores will sell all kinds of exercise equipment and make it very easy to buy with incentives and other deals that could save you money.
You might also want to look online before tackling the local shops with their sales queues. Websites have sales too, and you can find good bargains online just as you can any other time of year.
So if you are thinking of buying something suitable at the moment, you might want to hold off until 2010. Start the year with a bang and make sure you buy a new exercise bike then – you certainly won’t have the time or the inclination to buy it any sooner.
Either that or you could ask someone to buy you one for Christmas. This is ideal if you know someone who wants to spend a bit of money on something you will really like. You can get a reasonable entry level bike for around £60, but of course the more you spend the better the overall quality will be.
In any event, take this time to psych yourself up for getting on your bike come January. By then you will probably be glad to eat more healthily and get some exercise, after all the excesses of this time of year. But regardless of that, you should certainly look forward to getting on your brand new exercise bike and enjoying making use of it on a daily basis.
